About PadProTools
PadProTools started as a simple idea: most controller testing tools online are either broken, outdated, or hidden behind downloads and sketchy ads. We wanted something different free, browser-based, and built by someone who actually deals with controller problems firsthand.
Who We Are
PadProTools is run by Airam Chandler, a longtime PC gamer who’s spent years across titles like the GTA series, Call of Duty, the Mafia series, Tekken 7 and 8, Sniper Elite, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs 2, and Need for Speed. Like most gamers who log serious hours, controller issues eventually became impossible to ignore stick drift creeping in mid-match, deadzones that never felt quite right, vibration that stopped working for no clear reason.
Instead of just living with these problems, that troubleshooting process turned into building tools to actually measure them. That’s the reason PadProTools exists: to give other gamers the same testing tools, minus the guesswork.
What We Test
Every tool on this site the Stick Drift Tester, Deadzone Tester, Vibration Tester, Button Tester, and the rest — is built directly on the browser’s Gamepad API. We don’t just publish a tool and walk away. Each guide is written and verified against official technical references (the W3C Gamepad specification, MDN’s documentation, and official manufacturer support pages from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo) to make sure the explanations match how these controllers and browsers actually behave.
We’re upfront about what our tools can and can’t tell you. A browser-based test can show you resting offset, jitter, and unwanted input — it can’t open up your controller and diagnose a worn part. We say so, clearly, on every page.
Our Approach
- No downloads, no accounts. Every tool runs directly in your browser.
- Privacy-first. Controller input is read locally. Nothing is sent to our servers.
- Honest limitations. If a test can’t confirm something, we tell you not just what it can detect.
- Verified against official sources. Every guide is checked against W3C, MDN, and manufacturer documentation, not guesswork.
